2021: Year In Review

It was an extraordinary year – here are some of the things we'd like to highlight.

  • We were named a Top Workplace by the Chicago Tribune

  • Added 140 new Freightliner Cascadias to our fleet

  • Completed the construction of our new headquarters in Joliet IL, and moved in

  • Our drivers' average experience increased from 9 to 12.8 years

  • Were named a Crain’s Fast 50 company for the 5th time

  • An Inc. 5000 Company for the 5th time

  • Named Smart-Trucking's Best Company To Work For for the 2nd time 

  • Were nominated for a Best Fleets To Driver For award – results pending

  • Increased our company drivers’ pay to $80,000-$90,000k/year

  • Implemented a 6-month company driver pay raise

  • Transported over 70,000 loads and ran over 50,000,000 miles

  • Further increased overall fleet safety

  • Opened a new office in Colombia with 15 support staff.

  • Our trucks ran for over 50,000,000 miles – that’s over 2,000 laps around the earth this year, or, 38 laps per week

  • Delivered over 70,000 loads

  • Created a new Capacity department

  • Increased long haul load volume by 40%

  • Increased the average length of contracted freight haul by 166 miles

  • Increased the number of contracted loads by nearly 30%, compared to 2020

  • Compensated our drivers nearly $350,000 in accessorial pay

  • Compensated our drivers over $200,000 for efficient fuel utilization

  • We saw a 14% decrease in hours of service violations compared to 2020

  • Saw a 19% decrease in vehicle maintenance violations

  • A 30% decrease in ISS scoring

  • Our drivers had 105 clean level 1 inspections, 66 clean level 2 inspections, and 199 clean level 3 inspections

  • Made over 5,000 bad weather warning calls to our drivers

  • Conducted 241 incident/potential incident safety training sessions  

  • Conducted fleet-wide safety case studies every 2 weeks

  • In-serviced 140 new Freightliner Cascadias trucks with the all-new digital dashboard

  • Handled over 10,000 service events

  • Created over 6,500 work orders

  • Averaged a technician efficiency of 95%

  • Largely avoided shortages of parts and materials through strategic partnerships with our vendors

  • Built and operationalized an in-house wash bay

  • Extended our maintenance shop’s operational hours until Midnight on weekdays

  • Increased our total number of professional CDL drivers to 516, compared to 423 in 2020

  • Saw a 29% increase in office staff, going from 138 to 194

  • Processed and addressed over 18,000 prospective driver inquiries

  • Saw an increase of our drivers' average years of experience from 9 to 12.8 years

  • Launched Voice GP Transco - a great way for office staff to submit questions and concerns to management, and receive a video response directly from the CEO

  • Added 3 team members to the HR team, as well as a highly-experienced  Vice President of HR and Talent Acquisition

  • Launched a company-wide intranet to help our staff stay informed about anything new and noteworthy

  • Strategically balanced our current customer portfolio by growing existing customers and established strong relationships with the new ones

  • Increased our brokerage revenue by 100%

  • Added 3 Account Managers and 7 Account Coordinators to the team

  • Renewed freight contracts with key customers

  • Revamped our customer service department

  • Improved the process of our account management

  • Released the GP Transco Driver Mobile App 2.0, adding features such as: driver weekly/monthly/annual miles, driver performance statistics, improved stability, equipment paperwork, weekly/monthly/annual driver pay, a click-to-contact company directory, dark mode, and more.

  • Significantly updated the load module in our in-house developed transportation management system, OpenRoad TMS.

  • Blocked over 100,000 malware emails company-wide

  • Completed an integrations between Tenstreet and our phone system, making communication with prospective drivers more efficient
