2020 was a year that put everyone to the test - we thank our amazing office & maintenance staff, our outstanding professional drivers, and our dedicated customers & partners for working with us during this challenging year. Here are some notable projects and accomplishments from 2020:

Operations

  • Our drivers drove over 40,000,000 miles

  • We transported over 2 Billion pounds of freight

  • We transported millions of pounds of PPE loads

  • Increased average weekly miles driven by our drivers by 200 miles/week

  • Re-organized our operations team structure for better efficiency and even more priority on servicing our drivers

  • Created a dedicated team for organizing dedicated freight routes

Safety

  • Unsafe driving CSA score was reduced by 41 points

  • 100% reduction in hand-held device violations compared to 2019

  • 13% decrease in driving violations compared to 2019

  • 33% decrease in hours-of-service violations compared to 2019

  • 11% decrease in vehicle maintenance violations compared to 2019

Maintenance

  • Increased overall technician efficiency by 66%

  • Improved fuel utilization by over 8% - that’s 450,000 gallons of fuel saved in just 1 year

  • Dramatically improved maintenance support for our drivers as well as after-hours maintenance support

  • Introduced the GP Transco Top Tech competition

  • Serviced nearly 18 tractors/trailers in our shop each day

  • Prepped and in-serviced 134 new power units in 2020

  • Added a fuel utilization incentive program for our company drivers

Human Resources

  • Moved into a state-of-the-art headquarters in Joliet, IL

  • Average driver years of experience: 9 years

  • Total fleet size: 434

  • Added a scheduled 6-month driver review with possibility for 1cpm increase every 6 months

  • ~70% retention rate in 2020, meaning that 70% of the drivers who were hired 1 year ago are with the company today

  • We had a 30% increase in office staff, going from 106 employees in 2019 to 138 in 2020 

Sales & Brokerage

  • Increased our dedicated freight to 52% of total, with a goal of 75% by end of 2021

  • We had an addition of 13 dedicated customers

  • Revamped our dedicated operations and network for dramatically increased efficiency

  • Brokerage revenue increased by 50% from the beginning of 2020 to end of 2020

Sales & Brokerage

  • Increased our dedicated freight to 52% of the total, with a goal of 75% by end of 2021

  • We had an addition of 13 dedicated customers

  • Revamped our dedicated operations and network for dramatically increased efficiency

  • Brokerage revenue increased by 50% from the beginning of 2020 to end of 2020

IT & Technology

  • Released the GP Transco Driver Mobile App

  • Improved the usability of our in-house TMS system for improved fleet performance and maximized driver miles/pay

  • Improved our fuel efficiency calculations
